I watched the whole five hours of TV coverage Monday.  That whole war of words was surreal to say the least... too bad it came to that.

I have a friend who designs the windows for John and Ashley's cars. He's known John for a number of years, even been offered a job by him. He's told me some stories about Mr. Force that make this incident not too surprising. Anybody here know how John got that great smile and perfect set of choppers?

not a thing wrong with what he did. as the team owner he is responsible to his sponsors, to keep them, he needs as many cars in the final as possible. if pedragon doesnt like what force did to get a team member in the final and bump him out of it, he should have tried harder all season so he wasnt in that situation to begin with. im not a john force fan, but he puts winners on the line, and does what he has to to remain there.

No dis-respect. You're entitled to your opinion. I understood the crux of this matter to be John's attitude and juvenile response...
With that said, I disagree with the "team" concept. This is drag racing. This is heads up drag racing. Drag racing is (should be) one on one. We're not talkin' index or dial-in's. IMHO this should be quickest racer wins. Period. The "team" part of this sport is the crew(just like any other "one on one" sport). The problem (which was stated) comes from multiple cars representing a single entity. That sounds more like football or baseball where the "team" succeeds or fails as a unit, not by the individual competitor.
Anyway, it's too bad a person of John's stature and accomplishment cannot act in a more professional manner. Again, that's where the big grin comes from.

Didn't Pedregon initiate the incident with his acusation? I think Pedregon is a whiner and should have kept his mouth shut!  sour grapes.

John Force "made contact" with an NHRA official, and had drawn a $10,000 fine.

IMHO>>Tony P is a diplomat and he's obviously tired of having to keep his mouth shut and remain "politically correct". I don't blame him for speaking up, too bad this kinda thing didn't happen sooner.

And don't get me started on the lip service from Graham Light......... "We found no wrong-doing" LOL

Densham is a good friend of mine. You should hear some of the stories he's shared about JFR while sitting around drinking beer during qualifying rainouts. (I worked with numerous NHRA teams for nearly 10 years) Roll Eyes
