A short clip of 3 of our club guys on a drive through a tunnel this weekend... Car 1 is a 2276cc 66, second car is my 2165cc 63 and the last car is a 2276cc 56....

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/FIJI_2hnKEw" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/FIJI_2hnKEw</a>

Not a long clip but the feel of speed is quite cool.

Needs sounds.  Cool

Don´t hear much...   try this clip instead  Grin Grin Grin

Here is a video of me driving my 62 ragtop with my old engine (1914- 147hp). Cruising down the tunnel in 4. gear, then shifting to 3. midway through and racing to the top before shifting to 4. again (gearbox - 4.12RP- std. gears)

:-) :-) :-)

I miss my old engine ;-)

Perfectly driveable !!!!!  It´s all in the carb tuning/tweaking.

Listen to the video once again, and pay close attention to the idle when waiting for green light, and the sound when driving slowly away.

Here´s a shot from my dash.
The lambda-meter is usually out of sight, not like in the picture.

And nope, I didn´t broke my trans in that one, it was before that and later in the summer...3 boxes in one summer.
Now I have Weddle all-the-way and Karpiola axles. Should have listen to late Gene Berg: By the best, cry ones...

looks pretty bad ass to have a monster tach right in the middle.

what kind of speedometer is it you're using? and the other instrument is a fuel gauge right? but did i notice the indicator reflected in the gauge?

p.s. 3 boxes wow!

Speedo is an old vdo-meter with trip, works fine. (from scaniavabis I think)
On the right is an old Dehne fuel cauge.
I have hidden the indicator-, charging- and highbeamlight behind the speakergrill.
Shiftlight is in ignitionkeys original place, I have a original streeringlock with ignition now.
I had to make some room with machinefile to fit the Monster tach.

Hi,
you have nice concept....i have seen your video...:-))
Your magnaflow make a really nice sound, you can hear it..How is your fuel consuption (l/ 100km) with the 40 DRLA??
I think if you use 45 DRLA it would give  a + in HP and more torque!!!
I have to change in my 1951ccm to bigger valves, damm i want also good HP :-))It´s not enough with 120 HP.... Sad

I can second that. On the way home from the last Hessisch Oldendorf meeting in 2005 my 2176ccm IDA engine needed about 10-11 litres of Shell´s V-power per 100km while cruising the autobahn with about 100-110km/h.
What it needs when you push the throttle is another story... Grin

If you check his last posts you'll see that the first 3 times he gives away his specs he says it had 37mm vents, the last 2 times the vents have shrunk to 36mm  Tongue

yeah   and both are right  :-)    I first build my 1914 with w120 cam using 34mm vents....  next year w130 using 36....  final 2006 season 37mm vents (custom made by a Gribel MIB).
why i mixed it up - I hope i have cleared it up now.

Jetting was 57/160/160  - 37vents (yeah I know it sounds strange with 160/160 - but it was dynoed by a superprof. carb guy, and ran great)
What do you mean by needle valve ?...are you thinking about the emulsion tube ?
