The plan was a different one: Our friend and member Dokke wanted to finish his new race car for the DFL 402 in Bitburg, but couldn't make it in time. That's why the role out took place at last weekends show in Budel, The Netherlands.

He transformed his well known former street car (featured in magazines like Volksworld, VW Speed, Kaefer Wereld or VW Scene)

into "The Painter". He chose the name because he is a painter by trade.

We just want to say: WELL DONE, DOKKE! Good luck with it and may the car be successful!

Great look! Needs aluminum filler strips where the running boards were... Looks unfinished. For a '60s look, tint side 1/4 windows? Awesome, reminds me of Kris Klingaman's old car... sorta.

Hi Georg
Hi Dokke,

I saw the car this weekend at Budel but I was with my family and I didn't look closer (I have a nice picture, witch I still have to upload).  The car really looks great but the feeling it gives me is double:

1. A great callook car disepears from the scene and I did love the classic looks of Dokke's Blue 67 on burners
2. On the other hand, this is a great nostalgia racer with nice metalflake paint and pinstriping.  Lovely car.

Dokke, will you bring the car to Spa this year?

Congratulations Dokke!

I agree with Philip: the car was great before. And the car is great now. Very hard to make up my mind which one I liked best. I think only through a joyride I will be able to decide  Grin

THANK YOU for the kind words guys !!!

The decision to change the car is because the last 2 years I only use the car for dragracing so I thought ... let's do it all the way.

I would love to go to Spa but one of our DFL member is going to be married on that weekend, so I was really thingking to go to the SCC this year if it's possible.

Awesome Dokke!!! Very very good inspiration! Built in 2010, but already a car with history Smiley

Just in case : your old prep 1500 cc single port engine is still in the GTV, if you want to make a good pass with The Painter Wink lol!

Again, congratulation!!!
