When were they invented? Who was selling them? I guess that at the beginning they were welded?
I'm talking about beetles, not other cars.

Mine are welded. Got them from J-tech about '98. Don't know when the started making them...

I welded up a set of "raised" spindles for a '58 Baja Bug in '75... does that count?

I bought mine at Johnny’s Speed and Chrome back in 1995 on my trip to L.A. and till use them on one of my cars. At that time only the welded ones were available at shops like Johnny’s, Car Custom, Barrett Enterprises.

I had Jatech welded spindles on my 67 in 1992. I found them for $15.00 at Dorris Auto Wreckers in 1990 on a totaled 80s looker.

I am pretty sure I had Jatech Forge welded spindles in 1987....maybe 88
