Mallory Hyfire 6 question

I have a problem with my ignition.
A few years ago, I bought a complete setup from Mallory. Unilite distributor, Hy fire 6AL Control and a promaster Coil.
There has always been an ignition failure, like a missing signal. Its worst when its cold??
The problem is solved when I bypass the system, so the control box is not in use.
Checked if any wires are damaged, but seems to be ok.
Would like to hear if any of you, have had this problem, and what to do if it is so.

Have a thought of trying a Mallory Active Power Filter? Or maybe the Breakerless module in the distributor is damaged??

I had a similar problem, with a high RPM miss fire. When I bypassed the Hy Fire control box the problem went away. I replaced the Hy fire box with another, same problem.
I tryed rerouting the cables, seperating them and even shielding them, with no improvement. 

I ended up changing it for an MSD Digital 6, and have had no problems since.

Hello.
Normally its because the trigger wire and the supply wire are too close. If that´s not the problem I have no answer to it. I have long forgotten what you have Flenne. But shielded ignition cables is a must Bad cables can create exactly what you describe.

Problem solved...

The Coil apparently did the misfiring after all..
After several different checks, different wiring with ground/earth, sealing the wires etc, I tried to change the coil.
An old Bosch did the work fine... Now the mighty fine Mallory is goin on the shelf of shame..
