That's actually a Tatraplan - the four-cylinder air-cooled 'boxer' motored one. The Tatra 87 (the big brother) has the air-cooled rear-mounted V8, a mechanical layout which was carried right through into the 1990s... Go to Prague and if you're lucky, in the old town, you'll still be able to get a ride in a Tatra 613 taxi, like this:
