Nice clipping path. Or you have a small studio for shooting rusty parts?  Grin

Thanks, bud. No clip or mask; that's just a foam-core background in my wife's office...and two Speedotron 812 Blacklines with 103 heads and brollies. Makin' rusty parts look pretty is half of my job.  Grin

I'd rather do rusty parts over shiny parts.

Good idea!
Maybe run a PTO off the oil pump? Or use one or two stages from a dry-sump pupmp???
We could go belt-drive off the crank, but then there's the potential for slippage and we don't need that when mixing drinks! LOL

I still kick myself for not picking up two 010s at a southern Oregon VW show circa 1999 for $20 apiece... at the time was a poor college student; now I'm just a poor 30-something.  lol Grin

Dude, that stuff is still out there...and cheap. I got this 019 for $3 at a swap in October. Earlier this year at that same swap I got an 010 for $5. The key is to look in all the places nobody else either thinks of looking or is willing to. You gotta kiss a lotta toads but every once in a while you find a prince.

Sorry that it's slightly off topic...

Oh, I'm aware of the deals... seeing Glenn's pic just reminded me of that one instance, but at the time I just wouldn't/couldn't foresee the future. lol.  I've had my share of recent scores in my own back yard here in rural Oregon, which really makes the finds all the more treasured given how seldom VWs are seen out here.

That's your punishment for not suffering for your passion. You'll suffer one way or another so you might as well suffer in an avalanche of hoarded obsolete parts!  Wink

Rural Oregon should have lots of hippies. Rural Washington sure does. Hippies smell but they usually have old bus parts (my $5 010 came from a fat, long-haired old man in tie-dye). Peace, brother. Now give me my parts!

LOL!

I was stoked to score a never-been-used set of S&S non-merged dual QPs recently along with other stuff, including a Berg shifter in the mix from probably the early '90s.

Ok, digression ended.  To keep it on topic, I did get a 009 in the mail recently for a song...

Lately I have been collecting VW printing plates.
I just added this one to my collection.
It is actually a printing plate from the VW factory in Wolfsburg , Germany.

It was used to generate letterhead for the factory memos.

If you notice the second pair of smoke stacks were added to the plate at a later date. This means this plate is from the 1950's when there were only one set of generators at the factory.

I'll admit, it did cross my mind to put a shorter 24" fork and wheel on it to drop the nose... But then my crank would probably scrape when I pedal, and that's just no good for performance Grin
Yesterday I swapped on some thick 2.35" tires to replace the 1 3/4". Fills up the fenders really well now, and the ride and grip is dramatically improved.

Seriously? You've found enough plates to consider collecting them? And here I thought I was a master craphound. I am honestly impressed.
