...back in England before Volksworld etc I subscribed to Hot VWs and there was an article about exhaust design which I think S&S helped with. This had tube length and diameters etc. I don't have this any more. It would have been about the time of the HotVWs 20th anniversary. Does anyone have this for the answers?
Hope this helps!
Richard; now in New Zealand and without a Bug but looking to get one soon!
Sept. 1986 Hot VWs, the same issue with the horrifically gaudy "Top Gun" full custom of Ed Papac, had an article about exhaust system and header design, featuring a Q&A with the head of S&S Headers, I believe. I was just reading it the other day.

If I remember right they did not have the dual quiet pack mufflers for the Ghias at the time I made my own as the angle at the rear would be straight across in line with the bumper to look correct. I was working on my motor tonight for the Ghia which I will be starting on this project next year about this time. Right now I am concentrating on the NSU project. The engine for the Ghia is a 1755 CC 69 x 90 NPR. I just finish rebuilding my 48 IDA'S this week and ready to bolt them on the motor. I will probably be posting pictures of it in a few weeks.
