Hi guys not sure wether to ask this question on cal look or pure racing so will do both.If anyone has done this and can help, I need an urgent answer / solution please.

I have a flanged crank / flywheel combo on my 2332 T1 and firstly had clearance issues in the Rhino T1 box ( needed some case clearancing ) and now after just 20 road miles the starter motor has been killed so we are wondering if you need a special / different model starter when running this flywheel setup in a T1 box Huh

We already had a near miss when using the flange flywheel discovering you need to install a spigot bearing into it to support the gearbox inout shaft.

Hey Martin,ah right ok that's good to know,maybe my starter just plain went faulty and the engage gear didn't retract and so the flywheel pulled it round at 3000 rpm for 20 miles before an almighty screeching sound like a bearing collapsing followed by the sound of a fan on overun as if viscous coupled.Thought at first it was generator or doghouse fan problems but we tested the starter and its' dead in every way and the motor is loose in the housing !!

So is the ring gear on the flanged crank same as stock T1,number of teeth and diameter etc ?

Same diameter and teeth as a Stock 200mm 12V Flywheel. I too run a Flanged Crank and Flywheel on a Type-I Transmission and Stock Starter.

Thanks Martin,Thanks Rick,Thanks John.Cool I'll get a replacement stock starter.It's amazing when you run into a weird problem how you start questioning yourself and the items that are new and alien to you and having always run conventional 8 dowel stock style crank / flywheel combo in the past.......................live and learn eh  Cheesy
