WHAT'S UP WID DA BOOM BOOM???

« on: August 23, 2011, 20:08:32 pm »

Because the east coast just had one. Originated near Richmond, VA (5.8 on the scale) and easily felt many miles to the north here in central Pennsylvania, and beyond. VERY unusual feeling for the area.

I thought it was a "Fat Chick" walking down the street here on Long Island.

Glad it wasn't any worse for everybody. Did some quick reading and the differences in west and east seismology are interesting.

Hey, Mike... since your east coast cars have been Cal Looked, you can fully say that you're Cal Look, now. Welcome to California.

My family is from the southeast US. They always say they would never live on the west coast because we have earthquakes. They say they would take a tornado any day Roll Eyes

I was hoping to be considered fully Cal-look now!

Bates is right — getting a little bit of everything this year. As for earthquakes vs. other natural disasters, if you can no longer trust the very ground you walk on, what's left???

So, the east finally got the "E Ticket Ride"   Shocked Shocked  Here in SoCal one almost gets use to this stuff.  You know, Jerry Leiber died yesterday and maybe he was telling us something.  For those of you who don't know who he was he and his partner wrote many, many classic Rock & Roll songs.  Don't you think that was appropriate??    Roll Eyes

No thanks... I hope I never see a tornado or hurricane. Grew up on earthquakes.

Heck a 5.9 is barely enough to make me stop drinking my latte  Cheesy

And Mark when I worked at the BAP/Geon store in Santa Ana, a tornado blasted up Main St. It took off the roof and sign from the appliance store across the street. I'm sure it was minor by Midwest standards though.

Yeah, let's hope that we never deal with that mid-west weather, here. We're professional earthquake riders, but are NOT trained in the ways of that other scary stuff.

But, wait... after consulting the rule book, it turns out that air filters aren't Cal Look.

I haven't found employment yet, but I highly doubt that I'll find a "cush" job with a/c.

Bring one of these to work, if it's not humid they really help.

When I worked at Saturn of Loma Linda, we had two huge evap coolers in the eight bay service dept. It was
noisy/windy, but livable in the 100 deg+ summer. I even have one out on my patio, along with the ceiling fans.

I know all about swap coolers Wink We run one all summer long at my current shop (Prescott, AZ), but at the moment it's raining cats and dogs so it's about as useful as tits on a warthog Wink
At the moment I'm more concerned with keeping my car locked up!
