Koni red settings and bump stop source
Brandon Sinclair:
For those of you running Koni red shocks which settings do you run for the front and rear shocks?
Also, the foam bump stops in the set I have fell apart. Can you recommend somewhere I can find replacements-even aftermarket would be good. Koni did not have any.
Thanks
Zach Gomulka:
Full soft. When they wear in, tighten them up.

From my years of selling Koni shocks it was always my understanding that the valving was set up to adjust 1/2 turn per adjustment due to the shock wearing with use. Based on this as I recall there are about six adjustments before the shock is worn out. I'd always heard they could be rebuilt, but I have no idea what the time frame or cost would have been or would be if the service is still available.
Recently I've installed a full set of Konis on our '63 sedan and was amazed at the improvement in handling. I've sold various gas shock brands, but for me on a VW sedan there is nothing better than a set of Konis.

Agreed! Well worth the price. I'll never run gas shocks again.
