Hi all!
After all these years answering tech questions from you guys, this is my turn to ask some stuff over here!
 Grin

My son will be taking over my car next year and there's a rumor that clutchless boxes will now be allowed in the class I used to run back in the day.
So, I'm looking for a way to convert my Mendy 2D to a clutchless system.
I remember seeing a 2D converted to clutchless somewhere, but can't remember where I saw it neither who did it.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Dave Fot did the job very satisfied
Have taken it apart checked the wear very little

I was talking with Dave Folts the other day about that.
My idea is to build a true clutchless transmission, not just use faceplates to have a better/quicker engagement than when using pro rings.

I'd like to develop the idea of a split slider along with the angled dog engagements, like on a GForce transmission.

When taking with Dave Folts, he told me he's got a how bunch of CAD drawings and the biggest problem is the space to get it done, as it's already hard enough to get the faceplates in place

Dogring is the best
Have used Finnish gears that have it but you can't use them in a 2D have also discussed with SSF gear in Finland to manufacture them for 2D
But the pro ring versus faceplate is a huge difference in gearing speed almost like a dog ring (think liberty gearbox who have produced the Face plate have learned their lesson from their prostock gearbox
There is a company in Germany that manufactures dogring gear (Frank Bufe)

I was talking with Jussi (Kuplapaja) about this project, in specific the split slider idea, which they have never done in any trans, they only have the faceplate stuff.
But we'd need a few guys interested to get it moving, a bare minimum of 5 sets to be built, and still it wouldn't be so cheap.

There's a guy here in Brazil that is now making some billet sequential gearboxes, but I'm too old school for that.
I want my son to sit his ass on that car and run the old mendy+factory vw block/head combo at its best.
