Awful to see, from what I have heard from the Fox brothers, the truck seems to be ok, the cab's interior and engine are ruined. Hopefully the insurance claim will go through without a problem.

Tragic! But keep the faith, whoever it concernes. Anyo VW-enthusiast living in hte area might be able to help out a bit, if not by fixing the cars but at least just for a clap on the shoulder to boost the morale.

oh i hate to see this.
to most of us this sight will hurt a lot, as we all invest time and money in such old vehicules to preserve them and showing others that it is worth saving such cars. these cars tick with more heart than or modern daily drivers do. we may be mad at them if they don't work right, but i never had such a big smile when the car runs like clockwork.
i hope the insurance will come with enough money to cover all expenses and not just a 'catalog value'.
