I'm probably the last person to stumble across these.....Anyone have any experience with them?
Personally I have a lot of questions. Will they hold up under high cyl. pressures?
What are the overall dimensions of the cyls.?  And what about pistons?  When Mahle makes/made
Nickies the pistons were engineered to work in those cyls. as a matched set with optimized clearances.
Or so I have been led to believe, please correct me if I'm wrong

I've never heard of Hummel Engines? Aircraft use, I presume? LN Engineering was making these a few years ago, but I've heard that the cost to produce overwhelmed demand and therefore production stopped...

Yes, but as I remember with LN Engineering you got cylinders, pistons, and head studs. That's $1300 for only the cylinders.

Not that I'm in love with what I see, But what did a set of Okrasa/Mahle 90's cost in 1980, allowing for inflation?

I'd like nothing more than sliding a set of these over my JE 94's, after all what's not to like?  Superior cooling, meaning more
squeeze, long life and less weight. Crack open a 70's/80's 911 and what do you see? (911T excepted). Will they work for our
application and are they worth the money? Good question.....

What if they were made at the Peoples Factory #7 in Chongqing to our spec's?  How much would you pay? Just a thought  Wink

Oettinger/Mahle P+C's often pop up on German boards-app.300-500Eur/set(pistons are heavy).
QSC makes NiCaSil cilinders-I've got a set for my type4(with J+E's-through EMW).Make sure they are measured for roundness and before usage.
Running-clearence and ringpacks are different to the ones used with cast iron barrels.

Since we're all talking price, here's LN's pricing for 2010. The Hummel cyl's. appear to be different,
better or worse ??

I could see plopping down $800, maybe $1000 for a TRICK set of slugs and jugs, but I can't justify those prices.

LN didn't just design that jugs and built them, but they have done a lot of r&d on those jugs. if they want get their cost's back, they have to ask those prices.
but your getting the best cilinder for a type 1 available. Wink
