"Pit Stop" was painted on the outhouse. Another friend Jim Kitasaki, bought the car from John and that is were I got the wheels for my 60' convertible. Jim let me borrow them for a summer. I don't remember where the car ended up after that. That would have been about 1981 or 82.

John was a surfer, VW guy, not the head porter...You might be thinking of Ron Lesnik? Yeah, burgundy car is gone for sure, white should still be around somewhere. Jim took off the Americans when he sold the car. It had Centerlines on it. He sold the Americans to Larry I believe at V and W tire in Orange Ca. (no longer in business). Bill S. remembers seeing them there as well in the back of the old tire shop. But the shop, Larry and the wheels are long gone. I think Demoss' KG got sold and shipped to Hawaii or Japan? I know when it arrived to the buyer the 48's were missing.
