Hi guy's

I've bought recently some 36IDF's, they are for my bone-stock 1585cc.



The weber book doesn't explain much about the 36'ers so i didn't get to far with that book.

I'm looking for a start-up setting for the MainJet/AirCorr./Idle jet's. As i said, they are for a bone stock but new 1585cc.

I've read some article's and they said:

Main jet size Venturi size * 4 28x4=112 (i have now 110)

Air corrector Main jet size + 50 112+50=162 (i have now 180)

Below is a chart showing approximate idle jet sizes for given engine sizes, this assumes one carb barrel per inlet port E.G. two DCOEs.
Engine size Idle jet size
1600cc 40/45
1800cc 45/50
2000cc 50/55
2100cc 55/60

I have now a 50 in the idle circuit. was 40-45 better?

So, should i change something, or give it a go? (maybe a dyno run in the future)

Oh, and in one weber are the original 76degree throttevalve plates and in the other are 80degree plates, what is the purpose of these numbers and is it 'bad' to run slightly different numbers?

i would go with a 110 or 115 fuel and 200 air. the 180 is a bit small on webers, try a 200. and idle is good at 45, but 50 will work. look for black smoke when you hit the trottle.

i have used them with 28 vents and they worked great on a 1641 with a 110, something close to stock.
i wouldn't run them on a stock engine as the originals are hard to beat on fueleconomy, but looks are lacking  Grin But a wellbalanced set of 36's should work OK. check your emulsiontubes as well.

that will work. sometimes the IDF's come off  a alfa romeo and have the wrong jets and tubes. but these seem fine. and theu will love the W110 cam.

Oh i have another question it's about the acceleration pump. The picture in the attachment explains it better. The previous owner made some weird thing to this. To me it looks
like it isn't as it suppose to be.
Normally the acceleration pump is driven with a pivot arm on the main shaft, and with a spring. My carb has a rolling arm. Inside the pump the other owner made a spacer, otherwise
the accelator arm can't reach the pump-diaphram.

This can't be right, wat item should be there? on the explosion drawings there arent such items. or are they in the rebuild kit...?

Matt from http://www.racecar.co.uk/dellorto/ helped me alot, the button should be connected to the diaphragm.

I'm going for 55 idle's and 200 aircorrect. with a complete rebuild kit.

Case closed.  Grin
