Thanks everybody. Jonathan after all the metalfinishing was completed I primed with DTM by valspar, about 5-6 coats, Then blocked with 80 then 120 grit reprimed 4-5 coats and reblocked 120-220 and primed just bare metal spots. Then sanded with 220 and 320. Sealed and painted with 3-4 coats of concept 1 by PPG. Let set for a week and blocked with 400 wet and resprayed a couple of coats of color and 3 coats of clear. Next I will sand with 1000 and 1500 and rub out. I am starting to get excited now, First time I have put this much effort into one of my own paint jobs in about 20 years. Thanks again everybody for all the encourageing words. I forgot how much I hate sanding. Real fun sanding with wet feet in 30-40 degree weather.

Thanks and good luck jonathan. Finished respraying hood and decklid last night. Boy ! You have to be patient painting in 30-40 degree weather, Thought I would never finish spraying the clear
