Today was the book signing of Demon Bugs by our own celebrity... I mean, fellow VW fan, Stephan Szantai.

What a great store this is! I'm going back there with my roommate, next week when I have more time to check everything out.

A few cars showed up early in the day.

A closer look... Andy Spilkoman's Oval. NICE car.

Ted Dominguez's sano '69. REALLY dug this car.

This rolling VW accessory catalog was a trip.

Inside, Stephan set up shop and everyone had a good time hangin' out.

Came across THIS guy and haven't seen him since 1983. Which, by the way, made my day even better.
We had a blast catchin' up, talkin', and hangin' out.

Dyno, gettin' his book signed.

Outside, in the back of the shop, a few more cars scattered throughout the parking lot, made for another great place to hangout and talk. I finally had the honor of meeting this wonderful car and it's owner, Sarge.

Herr Scwhimmer's Käfer.

Jim's.

All in all, a good turnout. At least by the sign of books that sold out. Afterwards, a few of us walked down to a local eatery and continued to enjoy another perfect weather So Cal winter day. Good times hangin' out with all of you. Thanks for the invite.

It was a nice winter day for So Cal.. sunny and not too cold.

I rode out with Bill. I love his car but every time I ride in it, I get the urge to cut a hole in my roof. Cool

I'm trying to remember who I saw there. Dyno, Mark and Diana, Sarge, Jim, Carlos, Danny G, Brian Plummer, Glen, John Rayburn. I apologize if I left anyone out.

Only problem I had was that there wasn't enough time to talk to everyone I wanted to as long as I wanted to.

Um, Rick... should you ever get that "urge" again, kindly consider the following options, if you will:

1. Buy an early factory equipped VW ragtop in the model year of your desire.
2. Sign over your 1967 VW Sedan to me. (please make sure that you get my German last name correct on the spelling)
3. ALL OF THE ABOVE.

Thank you for your consideration regarding this matter and you & I shall settle up at a later juncture.

 Grin

Now, back to reality... good seeing you today. Thanks for bringing that bag of goodies. Brought back a lotta memories.

Hey does'nt Fred look like one of those guys from the "Thunderbirds"?  You know that puppet show, space guy saturday morning thang from way back?

Looking good Herr Frederick.  And Dyno, good to see you still fit in that jacket.  Hell, nothing I owned back then even comes close to fitting me.  Not even my damn socks.  Wish I could'a showed myself today but my son and I spent all day workin on our 66'.  Today was brakes, detail trunk space, and other misc crap.  Damn its a lot of work and the car still kinda looks like sheeeet.  Fun tho.  See you'all soon I hope.

Man those are some nice rides there.  Wish you had more pics.  Got any?  Luv to see em'.

Peace

HAHAHAHA!!! Worm, I don't whether to thank you or otherwise. THUNDERBIRDS? Dang, that dates back (like me)... haven't seen that show since it was on t.v. Sorry, the only other pics that I have were of the same cars but from different angles. But if anyone wants to see 'em, I'll gladly post 'em up.

Thanks, Speedwell... and good luck getting that jacket from Don. He even still has an original old Bug-In pin on the left collar. GOOD STUFF!

Great shots of the freeway, Sarge! Driving from Lakewood, Diana and I were shocked that it only took 45 min. to get to Autobooks. Jay was so cool and down-to-Earth... good to see him there. Thanks for postin' the pics.

You're quite welcome, Sarge. Good call on that photo op. I'll gladly take some pics of that, if need be.
