Damn.... I've been so caught up with work that I haven't even seen these photos!

It's great to see it coming together!

Will it be at Volksworld? We'll be there with the Kid Dean Squareback.... Although it's gonna be a stress!   It's not painted yet, still loads to do!

Hope all's well!

I doubt I'll make volksworld , but to be honest the show isn't really my thing . Aiming for Cal Look drag day

I hear you man.....   Great work Rob, it's looking bad-ass!

Some progress !

Engine is in and running , still need to fit the oil cooler under the rear seat and pipe it up , and find the correct length fan belt for the power pulley .

Then a test drive !

I suppose its about time I updated this thread . I finished the car last year , but broke a valve spring on its first proper run out to vw action .
I asked Richie Webb to go through the motor , just to check it over and see what he thought . Can was way too much for a street car , so Richie recommended an FK8 , fresh barrels n pistons , and pistons dished to drop compression . the SPG roller is still in there , despite Richie's advise to use it as a boat anchor !
To say I'm pleased with the motor now is an understatement , pulls hard from low down even with the light flywheel .

So big thanks to James ( Jick  ) for the paint , and to Richie Webb for the horse power .

Look great Rob. Without going back and reading the whole thread, which of the panels are original and which are yours?

I made the Bonnet , deck lid , rear wings and  number plate light . Front wings are Day mouldings as I never got around to making upright headlight ones .

Thanks everyone . I still think I'll paint the muffler black . I never wanted the ceramic coated , but it came up at the right price . I love where the muffler sits tho , nicely tucked under , close to the fender , 4 tuned header helps keep it tucked . I'm not a fan if the big merged systems that have the flange way out back .

Cheers , Rob
