I would like to know more about Gary Justus' 64. That car is around for a while and it seems to be at every show in SoCal. When was it build? And do you have some old pictures of the car?

That building almost looks like the the Taco Surf in Surfside, So Cal on P.C.H. I love shooting cars and motorcycles using that as a background. I guess it's the surfer that lurks within me. HA!

What really makes that car so cool is the owner.  A nicer guy doesn't exist.  It's folks like Gary that make this a great hobby!

Thanks for the kind words...This year will mark the 25th year that I have owned the car. There are too many stories to tell. A few notes would be that the car was painted in '84 and retains the same paint job. I added the convertible decklid later and had it (questionably) color-matched. The car was driven daily until about '95 and has since become more of a fun car. During the 80's into the mid 90's I ran Centerlines but when Flat4 came out with my favorite wheel I had to switch. I also have my Ercos and gold EMPIs.
Lot's of people already know this stuff, so I'll just let it rest. I'm flattered that, with all the great cars and people out there,  somebody remembers.

Someone was saying something about survivor cars from the '80's? Yep, that's the one.
No shortage of gauges in there, Gary! What ones take up space in the glove box delete?

Yeah, I can't help it but I love the dash.  Which gauges are you running on the dash?

Can't wait to see them, Gary! Can you tell us some more about the engine(s) you have/had in your car? And what color is it?

When I figure out how to use this scanner I'll post some old pics. As far as color, it's Porsche Sahara Beige (as seen on another car on this forum). Started of with a 1641 w/Kadrons back in '83 and later upped that to a 1776 w/Kads (bought at Johnny's Speed and Chrome and still have them). Those two motors were outfitted with RaceTrim, Truehaft, JSC, and SCS goodies (which I still have). I DID spend some time in the "Chrome Louvered" brig, but I paid my debt to society and have been totally rehabilitated. Unfortunately, I broke a valve in preperation for Sacramento last Wednesday, but here's what I've got:
84x94 @ 9.75:1 by Dave Rhoads
CB 044s by Jeff Denham
Tranny by Steve Beecher
Scat Crank and Rockers, Eagle, Engle, Berg, Bugpack, IDAs, yadda-yadda....
Holley Red fuel pump 3/8" solid plumb to a bulkhead fitting on the front breast plate (some nice bends, if I do say so).
Thanks to Dave Conklin for digging up the 'vert lid for me (still owe for that one, buddy).
The T-bars, Roll bar and Steering Wheel are from Johnny's Speed and Chrome.
I'm pretty disappointed about the valve, but I hope to be back up by Classic Weekend.
