A number of you will be familiar with the Hot Rod Custom Show organized by Mooneyes in Yokohama, Japan. Held in December every year, the one-day show is massive with about 15,000 visitors.
( <a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/clu7RlyVxJw" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/clu7RlyVxJw</a>)

It’s a bit like the Grand National Roadster Show in California, yet with a wider variety of cars, Volkswagens included. VWs don’t represent the bulk of the entries of course; but this year’s show (December 2nd) will feature a special exhibit of Volkswagens called “Air Cooled in Action” with a lot more VWs than previous years. (http://www.mooneyes.co.jp/express)

The great news is that two VWs from So-Cal have been invited to the event: The Schley Brothers’ Lightning Bug 2 and Bill Schwimmer’s ’59 Ragtop! Just thought I’d share the news - I think this is very cool!

Well... we will have to celebrate Nao's B day when we are there... I can hardly wait. I am still trying to get my mind around this whole thing, A photog from Moon just left the house, so it is starting to settle that this is really happening.  I am honored to be a part of it.

Hi, Dyno

I usually have parts shipment going on every week!! from CA to Japan. Problem is I do not have much shipment out to CA.
I think it's better to travel with Bill in the "cage". Grin

Very cool,
What an honor Bill.  I'm sure it will be an amazing trip.

Con-nee-chee-waa (formal hello)
oh-yah-sue-me (good night- easy to remember think of Larry Parker)
Hai (means yes- sounds like 'hi")
go-men (means sorry- sounds just like "Go, men"- I seem to use this a lot) (informal)
Sue-me-maa-sen- (formal way of saying "I'm Sorry" sounds like Sue me, Massen)

Just a thought.........

I know that the plan is also for LB2 to come over to scotland next year prior to attending EBI5 with the VW Gasser Garage! Wonder if we could ship both including Bills from Japan to UK then after EBI5 send them home to CA. Grin

Didn't that trouble like that nearly happen in 90's (if I remember correctly)?

I am not "no worries" (the organisers of the event in the 90s) and will/would return cars and I'm sure both bill and the schleys know this already so if you can't post positively please don't, my intentions are 100% straight, however losing the paperwork is a good idea
