I took this photo at a show some time ago and I'm just uploading pictures from the show where I took this photo to our club blog - do you know what year & show it was? I would imagine something like this happening might be a good memory jogger! It was the show which Clyde Berg attended when he sold his racecar to Paul Woodhead (if I remember correctly, and remembering stuff ain't a strong point of mine).

Also, do I remember it damaging the bodywork a little? Nasty!

I am sure it was Big Bang that Clyde drove the car he had sold to Woodhead, probably something like 2002, 2001?

Looks like I wasn't the only one who was geeky enough to get a picture of himself with Clyde Wink

Remember it? How could I ever forget? I lost the fan at high RPM on the quarter, totally lunched the NOS Brazilian low level fanhousing, the shrapnel from the fan ruined lots of stuff (you can see the rear ram pipe on the IDA took a beating and some of it tried to escape through the bodywork and that meant I had to have a panel straightened and  repainted.

The breather set up, for those who want to know, is a Porsche 356 filler on a machined aluminum adapter which allows it to bolt down onto the VW filler. The little filter is a K&N on a piece of rubber pipe.

If anyone tells you you don't need a welded fan - show them this photo!
