Anybody remember it?

I remember it, fastest car I have ever ridden in. The Betelguise Pro Turbo was on the cover, 1991 or so.

I believe it was the March 1991 issue of Hot VWs with Robert Couse wrenching on his Pro Turbo mill on the cover... had the Beetlejuice car on the cover, as has already been said.  Good lookin' car!

Hi Tony, yeah that's the car. That's Bug Bash 1990 maybe? I remember in high school, senior year, my friend Ty told me abotu this guy in Fremont that had some 400hp VW. We drove down one night and upon walking up the driveway, my jaw hit the pavement.
I know some of the details look dated nowadays, in this age of re-living the 1970's and all, but this car was put together right. I think Jeff B built the motor, so who knows if that was done correctly (so it would live), but the detailing was top notch. Never saw the car make a pass, but I think Hot VWs said he went 10.86?
That's going pretty fast.

Something about blue VW's and me....

Dirty Doug Wescott, I haven't seen that name in years. He lives in his shop across from NUMI and builds old Novas.
