generally speaking they are of a good and affordable quality. For peace of mind, take them apart, check the snap-ring for burrs, degrease the lifters, put them together and put a drop of green Loctite (formula 290) on the snap ring.

Check that the snap ring is in the right way round too. On one side of the snap ring there is a radius and on the other the face is flat. The snap ring (circlip) is better seated when the flat face is facing upwards when you look down as in the photo pictured above. The sets I have seen have had the circlips fitted both ways randomly. Worth checking and sorting. Regards and congrats on the fantastic work on the Kebabriolet, James! Matt

Your liifter look like mine only run for the 20 mins of break in then I cooled the engine and set valve lash which has opened up a lot let it warm then opened the throttle a couple of times then on the 3rd opening of the throttle it sounded lazy reving so stopped stripped the engine to find 3 lifter's shattered and 3 worn bad.
I am not trying to be negative about these lifter as I have had these lifters inthe engine for the past 2 years with no problem but during a freshen up I put new cam and lifter's in (only due to pitting on the lifter's ) and they were wiped out.
just tying to get to bottom of this.
cheers james

I have used them out of the box on many street and race motors.
My personal race motor turns 8,200rpm every time I do a burnout. No problems with any yet...
