Thanks Fred! She is under construction at the moment (bare shell) but the stance will be the same when done. They never made S model Fasty's (but they should have).... don't tell anyone, but that S license plate cover came off an early S notch, ssshhhhh Lips Sealed

I remember seeing a Jag XKE with black California plates rotting away in a yard in a small village outside of my home town in Pennsylvania.  This was before I had my driver's license, at least 16 years or more ago.  Always wondered how it got there, and now I wonder if it is still there!  Bet those plates had a story to tell.

I kinda thought something was up with that S cover. But I figured that I've yet to see every variant (pun intended) of a Euro spec. VW. Thanks for the clarification. Can't wait to see your car when it's painted.

Here is mine on my new project. Can someone says what it means? Does it mean that the car arrived in California between 63 and 69 ? It is a 1957 Ghia.

My guess would be that it was registered in mid 1967.  My '67 was built sometime in September or October of 1966 and sold new at Ballard Motors in Anaheim shortly there after. The letters read UEV.

We've got a '68 Porsche Smiley 912 Undecided Targa Sad 4 speed Tongue in the shop right now. The only cool thing about the car is the matching black plates... with Vasek Polak frames! Shocked
