yeah I use them and last 2165 I had in car went 8600 miles and when I took it down the lifters had no pits.
I have used them, without issue, since 1996. Engle cams turned me onto them. I'm sure if they are subjected to wrong oil, too high of temps, too high of spring pressure, wrong break in, etc... they'll give you problems, but so far, the way I've used them (1300ppm ZDDP+, 160-165lbs @ seat/300 over nose/"no touch" philosophy on cam/lifter engine assembly/good break in). Wish I could say the same about other brands (not mentioning any more about that).
Lifters/oil/etc are topics sure to start a debate. Hopefully it stays civil here (unlike the "other" forum). If guys would stop beating their chests and calm down, we'd all learn something from one another.
ok... next?
f.w.i.w, when I was @ BH and built the KG's drag motor we were told by our sensei to run them too. That was with K-Motions and FK98. We only polished the OD and the face lightly with Scotch Brite as instructed by our sensei, broke em in with green Kendall 40W, and went thru Canton filter with a fine tooth comb all the time looking for grey fuzz.... which never showed.
Hope this helps.
