Title: 48 IDA fuel inlets sizes
Post by: chez2165 on February 17, 2012, 01:17:48 am
I have a pair of IDA's with the fuel fitting currently fitted to the side of the carb but was considering swapping the fitting to the top of the carb for extra fan housing clearance and was wondering if the threads are the same size or not.

They are not the same. JC Ent. sells the fittings for what you want, a plug for the side and a AN type fitting for the top. Used them in plenty of motors, works great, and not expensive.

I used the JC top IDA inlets on my car too.  My engine is on the narrow side (82 with Porsche length rods).  I used a thing fan shroud and the side inlets were to close to the shroud.  The top inlets work fine.

I just installed fittings in my IDA's but my memory sux  :D

I believe the tops are 14mmx1.5, and the stock side inlets are 12mmx1.5.
