the car has the air too low compared to the old one ???
and as i know the car had a normal roof before the choptop version and second pictures there's a chop top , but is not lower at the rear ,  after was still lower than the most known version (picture3)

Very cool !
I'm glad that someone is going to restore it.
It is definitely worth the time and money to restore it EXACTLY the way it was.
A daunting task, yes, but well worth the effort !
 :) :D ;D :D :)

I didnt notice the quarter window at first, but you are 100% correct. To me it looks like the red car has the windscreen layed back (a no no in early '70's NHRA!), whereas the original car has the stock angle. Maybe the chop was redone? Who knows. Either way, it's going to take a lot of work to turn this

into this... the paint alone would cost thousands!!!

Check it really close.  It appears that both rear windows are different from each other.  If you look through the left side at the right side it appears to be the same shape as the old photo.  Just looks like poor workmanship on the shape of the rear windows.  It was a race car after all.  JMO.

First of all the Buzzin Bee seems to have a "big window" body 1965->.... look at the B pilar, could you fit a semaphore there? Nope. Note, the doors are early.
The red car seems to be a small window body with small window doors, but not the same doors as before. look at the nice curve in the front part of the window surround. The red door has a straight section in it to.

It might be the buzzin bee with a new body? Very cool to see it found!

There were two Buzzin' Bees, and the car that Ralph just shipped to California is the second, tube chassis car (black paint). We just unloaded it at Schley's house about 2 hours ago. Stunning to stay the lease. This gasser will blow you guys away when you see the details on this one. This is a clone car to Billy Mitchell's Thunder Bug, originally built back in 1974. Ran 10.60s best, weighs 875 lbs without weight added....

875? What the ...
It would seem as if there's NO STRUCTURE inside ... absolutlely AMAZING what they did back in the Gas/MC days.
Borders on INSANITY!

You know Russell, tough to say. There was so little press given to cars in Flordia during the '70s. Ralph has a lot of photos, albeit bad ones at that, of the car when it was done, but he has a lot of detail photos of Billy Mitchell's Thunder Bug chassis, which this one was made from. Billy Mitchell DID drive this car as well. Now the car shown above in gold and custom paint (with 12 spoke wheels), was the first car, and the one that Billy drove against Darrell Vittone at the U.S. Nationals. This car (#2) now has a lot of correct parts on it: Empi globe manifolds, Deano pump, sump, block-off plate, linkage pieces, Empi GT valve covers, DDS shifter, DDS rear wheels, etc. This is a tube axle car with Koni shocks, 4-link rear end with Koni adjustables.... no torsion housing, hence the ultra light weight. This car was also known as "Tea Time" and ran the NHRA Winternationals and won class. I found some great Jere photos of it last night. A lot of history here, especially with the Billy Mitchell connection! Ralph did his homework well.

Zach,

The black tilt body without lettering looks to be the Mike Dennis car. I saw this car at an early bug in and looked it over closely. I am not sure who supplied the shot above but it looks like the same car as Dennis the Menace.

The plain black flip-body car could well be Dennis The Menace, as it has rear torsion bars still, and Buzzin Bee didn't have them.
