Title: ZF Limited slip differentals - Info please - sorry Zeeee F for the US guys ;)
Post by: Lee.C on January 15, 2010, 17:43:45 pm
well as the title says guys I am looking for information of ZF LSD's - I have located one for PROJECT 66 and all I know is that it is the "8 bolt type" meaning there are 8 bolts holding the crown wheel,

I know its gonna need a rebuild and after reading about Marc's troubles I thought it would be good to get some more info on these old skool diff's

Any info would be a great help guys - I'll be waiting  :)

my main question is - is a ZF unit a Torque bias differential OR limited slip differential  ??? ??? ???

Basiclly does it act as an open diff on deceleration  :-\

Hi, Quafe is torque biasing and the ZF is Limited slip.  Bruce T did an amazing job on rebuilding mine, and he is an expert on them in my opinion, hopefully he will answer your questions.
