Title: My new 67 project!
Post by: Matt Tobias on May 18, 2014, 10:08:21 am
Well I picked this up off of Craigslist just the other day in Tempe AZ.  Its in pretty good shape with just a couple of small rust spots that need to be fixed, some dents worked out, a few aftermarket panels replaced(hood, front fenders) with good german metal, and my 2276 thrown in place of the 1600 (emissions) motor thats in there now.
Then its on to dechroming and cal-looking the hell out of it!

I think it might get painted its original color which is still under all of the undercoating Ive been scraping off and on the inside of the doors.

I do not like the one piece windows so that needs to be taken care of.
Zach G, this car is getting the german front fenders I bought from you at the swap a while back.

Good luck, looks like a good base. It's hard to beat a 67. I like the look of one piece windows but struggled to keep them working correctly in my oval i had, the regulators availble today are junk.

Wow, I know that Problem.
I had to run 185/65/15 on my original 5,5" Sprint Stars.  ::)
May I need to change the axles to run fat tires, too.

btw, nice choice of rims!

Fabs and I agree on most things but not this - I think the wheels look amazing on this one!  They do suit big window cars.

Well Im finally back to doing some work on the bug.
At Bugorama I picked up a new hood, two 67 decklids and a 4tuned 1 5/8 merged header.
The hood needed some work.

So I have two hoods.  One was in a front end collision and the one I picked up has rust issues.  So Im going to take the two hoods and make one good one.

So next step is to cut out the rust and cut out clean and swap them together.
