He is basically out of the VW scene, other than he is the guru of CNC billet VW heads! Mike's heads are on the VW Paradise's dragster, as well as Ken Fisher's funny car (latest engine combo). Mike also made the (new) Lowry 2-piece case, but that project has been shelved for the past few years.... He lives in Lake Forest, CA, which is only a few miles from where the VW Classic is held. I know he sold that black chop top years ago, but not sure what the history of it is.... Hope this helps.

Truth is, I have two... one near N.O.S. and the other just decent. I know, I'll put the good one on my Cal-look project Oval, and use the other on my '56 Ragtop Semiphore Oval BAJA! Yellow with black paint job. A real crowd pleaser nowadays.

The car had no fiberglass at all... fenders, hood, decklid, etc were all cut steel. A real butcher job. Sad even then. ~DR. |
