Title: reground crank
Post by: Peter on February 11, 2007, 14:09:09 pm
hi guys,
i just got my new crank yesterday..
its a dpr and the box says:
mains: 10
rods: 10
its kinda stupid to ask, but that means that the crank is 0.010 inch undersized right?
this corresponds to  0.25 mm undersized bearings ,ok?

thanks, Peter

That's correct. It's common to grind a welded stroker or counterweighted crank to first undersize to make sure the journals are straight.

0.50mm (20 thou) is common enough. Two more grinds available after that.
