May not be what you want to hear, but Wolfsburg West is doing a high quality repop of them.  I know I have a set and they are beautiful.  They aren't cheap though.

Yes I've just found that out,but like you say there are top quality but that comes at a price like £700+vat@ 17.5%.....so I've ordered them.

Not sure US Spec bumpers would go well on a light coloured, "surround" glass Beetle.  Kiss
