We,r currently in negotiations over his fee ,and whether or not he still has to carry that big hammer around all day ,just to go drop it at the startline, a bottle of Jack should swing the deal my way Grin

I think poor Fergie is getting slightly over stretched here....his responsibilities now include crew chief, car pusher, hammer man, camera man and dvd director - all this while drinking JD.  If I were him I'd be looking to get back to the negotiating table Grin

Here's one I lifted off the net somewhere - I think this sums up Fergie pretty well.  Like you said, if you want the best, it comes at a premium!!!

Just wish I had one with the hammer also Grin

After looking at the previous posts good question Huh Grin

Fergie is a larger than life guy who makes life far more interesting when we are away camping and racing.

In fact he probably is Scotlands answer to Dyno Don.

When Donald was racing at Bug Jam this year Fergie had this gaint inflatable hammer when the lights went green the hammer was struck. Hence DTH drop the hammer and/or the initials of Donalds name Grin

Will the real nostalgia cars be running exibition runs or will it be balls to the wall?

It would be good to know in advance what safety requirements are needed. I always end up running close to the wire. Smiley

That's one important topic!

This is a point I thougt about too. If you want a real race, you need to make rules. If you make too much rules, the sh#*t starts... Undecided

It's the first EBI ever, so I think it would be good to first see who's showing up and then decide what to do. Heads up? Bracket race? Old cars vs. new cars? Huh

Like I said above: rules cause trouble, but please, NO EXHIBITION RUNS!

What do you think about that?

Saludos,
Ole

I agree!! Personally I prefer a real race weekend like in the USA Bug-In. Old & new cars all together. In two words...REAL RACE. It would be cool to resume the regulation of that time.

I have just done a google search on Chimay raceway and up came this page. It probably is relevant to my question about
safety requirements. Helmets cages etc. I thought the information would be good for Bug In racers. Maybe someone could
confirm this.
