are the indicators the use on a land rover defender the same as the ones they use on a beetle
does anybody know that,please let me know

those are lucas 488 austin healey in the 50's etc ...

thanks for the info but do now if the one's on the land rover's are also the 488
they are quite expensive

i buy mine some years ago at the retromoteur expo in ciney very cheap  , i  bought only glasses , and the rubber were new , you can buy them in any english car shop  maybe ask  here http://www.philipsclassics.be/ (http://www.philipsclassics.be/)

if i remember well i had pay 5->10 € for one glass without rubber and chrome
and the complete one cheaper then yours if i remember

No idea, but Shubee on here has posted pictures a couple of times with the rough positioning. Check out Fabs' (Speedwell) thread on the rebuild of his '61, and Louis B's In Da Werks thread about his car. Of course, mine will be different because I'm going for Europa bumper holes and Lucas indicators!

those report are the one i scanned some times ago from the hot vws  , maybe it's the correct position , but on the report it's for a US 67 fenders
here're the tread with the lucas on my 61 , but know i don't know if there's a correct position , i put mine  ar the palce it looks better for me , now you can choose your right place  to put them  ;D

here is a picture of my car set up with lucas lights. I, like speedwell, put them where I thought they looked good. just have to mess around with tape cutouts and see where you like them. I will look for the installation pics and try and get them up.

A Good Rule of thumb for installing Lucas Lights is to tie a string around the headlight ring screw and line the string up with the top of the oval bumper slot it ends up being to one side of the horn grill opening.When using this method the string should go through the center of the indicator see Picture this is A really good explanation of how to locate them.

i don't have any pictures of car with bumper and lucas , because they put original bumpers with the original turn signal inside this one

Air-cooled VWs are the only cars that I know of which have their valances referred to as aprons. Weird. Dunno why... I never bothered to correct people on it. Aprons are what every other car has that the valance attaches to. At least that's my (mis)understanding.

sorry to confuse u lol hope fred has sorted that one out?

sorry i ment a 71 1200 its got a late model short bonnet but has like a early style apron/front valance with the bumper mounts in them and not in the wings ???
