Title: how much of a job to move shifter location?

im thinking about moving the shifter back a few inches how much work is involved? :)

'68 and later Beetle's had a shifter location about 3" back from the earlier cars. You could get one of those later shift rods and move the shifter mount back to match.

Measure twice, cut once ;)

Then again in 73 VW moved the shifter back again another couple of inches.  But they also moved the e-brake back too, so going with the 73 and later shift rod might be a bit more work.
OTOH, I sure like the position of the 73 and later shifter compared to the 68-72 cars.

hmmm i think ill try to adjust the angle of the new seat as it was fine with the old seat before i start cutting  :D
