As the topic says I found a sleeve in the channel leading up to the oil pump. This case was machined by Rimco.
The question is, who put it in there and what good does it do?

Brazilian case come with the sleeve. I'm not really sure why they are there, maybe it was a machining boo boo at the factory.

from what I have Seen VW installs the sleeve to match the early oil pump just like alot of the cases come with the smaller pick up tube Rimco most of the time changes the pick up tube and removes the sleeve  for the larger pick up oil pumps like Melling Etc.

Okay thanks!
I have changed the pickup to a german one, and the oil pump is a melling. I thought about a machining error, but I could not se any holes there. I will get it out of there tomorrow...

Thanks!
