It's with a heavy heart that I put this up for sale, but needs must Sad

She's a 1958 Standard Model imported from Austria in 2006.  Two owners from new before I got it, with the second owner having owned it since 1959!!

Don't have a complete history with the car, but have a cool photo of the owner on his confirmation day back in the late 50's and all receipts since I owned it.

Was unwelded when I got it in 2006, but has had new rear bumper supports and a small piece on the front quarter panel (repair looks factory).  Floor pan and heater channels all original and solid.

Floorpan has been modified to accept 60's seat frames and the beard seats (originals were held in with wingnuts!).  I sold the original front seats to another standard owner and the rear seat has been trimmed by Bernard Newbury to match the beards.  Headliner is all orginal and good, if a little brown.

Original paint inside and exterior repainted during the 80's.  A couple of bubbles on the bonnet, but other than that it's very presentable and will not require a repaint (unless you want concours condition!).  Inner wings and engine bay have been detailed in matching paint.

Has CB front disc brakes, 4 inch narrowed beam, 60% gene berg shifter, pro comp gearbox (1.04 4th and 3.88 r&p), CB Rhino mounts, race axles, 12 volted, working semaphores, 1500cc single port (2276cc available by separate negotiation), enkei slot mags.

Just needs a big engine fitted and you have an ultimate cal looker (if that's your thing!).  Could be returned to original condition with a bit of work.

Price is GBP6.5k, which reflects the rareness of the model, overall condition and the work that has gone into the car.  All work done by Defcon3 and Funkenblitz.

Going in next week for a service and to have the passenger seat fitted to the seat frame.

Location: Poole, Dorset, UK

I have 'compared notes' quite a few times with Fabs since owning this  Grin

Was heading down a slightly different route (i.e. 2276 and centerlines) but needs must and have other plans.....

Hi Fabs,

Original floor pan dude, but tunnel has been modified to take the later hand brake and seat frames welded in to take the Beard seats.

Had to be done to make it safer for the original plans for the stroker motor.

Maybe not so easy to return to original spec  Grin

You know you want two  Wink  Your original one and this one with a big motor.............
