Title: Swedish flat four OHC dragster
Post by: Ole on March 19, 2006, 19:49:03 pm
Hi all!

Just found a shot of this rail:

Wild ride, huh?

Text says it's from Sweden, displacement almost 3.0 liter, 1979. And "Pank", is that the name of the driver?

found it here:

Saludos,

This is the engine of the dragster Fredrik Reichel built, and still owns.. the dragster that is, the engine is sold.
In this forum Fredrik calls himself "Frallan"....  this engine satt in St. Moritz fashion a couple of years!

To me it looks more like 2 valve Porsche Heads.

Do you know the Austrian Hoebart engines?

Here's an article written by Fredrik "Frallan" Reichel.... It cover "all" of the crazy OHC engines built in Sweden during the eighties.
His Pank dragracer is also mentioned.

He he he! Funny!

I just found this thread when looking for something else.
Engine is now back in my ownership and the dragster will be rebuilt to almost original.
Paint is not in the best condition but I will not touch it.
The rail frame will be painted in the original red with gold dust in the clear coat...hmmmm I loved it when it was new. It was so beautiful.

Some kind of nostalgic ride will happen in some years from now.
Just have to change that mess of a storage garage to a workshop and find the time in Sweden to make it happen.

Now I am curious to the old german article. The link did not work anymore. 3 liter??? NO, it was 1985 cc. 78 stroke and 90 bore.

"Masturbate more"....coming from a painter with a beautiful wife.
Quite controversial for 1979.

I like the components of your mess. Please let me know when you will be cleaning. I'll hide behind the dumpster ;)
