I think this article, along with the "Cal Look" issue that featured the array of BRM'd cars on the cover, got me more pumped up about authentic Cal Look culture more than anything else at the time. Of course, seeing some of the DKPIII cars in mid 1990 helped too, but reading about the history of the club and its members and the cars they owned. Not until Keith's book hit my bookshelf in early 1995 (sent my girlfriend 35 miles to a Tower Records the day after the first batch was stocked) did any other bit of text fire me up like these. I can remember BS-ing with sheep on some of our drives to OC shows or back from the Phoenix show about how cool it would have been to have grown up in the midst of the Cal Look genre in OC. Since we lived 400 miles away, we just kind of made up our own Cal Look culture in North Calif. Too bad it was just about half a dozen other guys that followed us. Anyway, now to be part of the DKP is one of the greatest honors in my life, seriously. What a great bunch of guys. While the cars are all very cool....it is truly about the people.  Smiley

Thanks for posting my pic, Fabs.  The reunion was probably the best day of my life.  It had been almost 20 years since the original group disbanded and getting to see everyone again was off the charts.  Like Sheep mentioned though, I was seriously into bicycling at the time and about halfway through the day I pedaled down to the beach and back (2 hours / 40 miles)....never crossed my mind the importance of that day for some reason.  Thanks to all the cycling, I was able to wear my old burgundy bell bottoms from back in the day!  I have lots of photos from the day...maybe I can persuade Fabs to help me post a few on here.

Thanks for taking care of me again Fabian...great job!!

I thought maybe some of you might like to see the guy who was responsible for founding DKP.  His name is Pete Dayton (white t-shirt, first photo).  The guy standing in the black shirt is Mike Huggins and is responsible for the clubs name and in some part the design of the clubs decal.  Seated are Steve Stow (tan shirt) and Gary Kruger.

The second photo is of Doug Gordon (Underdog) Dyno and Ron Fleming

The pic of the guys by the Underdog are L-R, Ron Fleming, me, Doug Gordon, Gene Berg, Dennis DeMarco and Roy Jiminez

The display of photos and memorbilia was off the charts at this event!

Thanks for posting the pics for me Fabs!
