Title: ALS
Post by: Ghost on July 23, 2016, 09:31:11 am
Hi
Did anyone knows if it's possible to use an ALS on a draw through turbo setup?

I thought about this a few times now but cant think of a way to do it with your set up, time for EFI :o ;D

cheers Richie

Everything is possible..

But are you talking about ALS og launch control / 2-step?

I have some problems with a carb so with EFI…

I know what you say but I have a goal with the carb, maybe after perhaps I go to EFI but it's a long way too and here I'm alone…

Actually I have discharge between every shift, I would like to reduce it…
for starting I found, test it in Hockenheim…

how do you do anti lag on draw through carb then Erlend? cant see how you can add fuel and cut ignition at shift when you lift throttle but not done much carb drawthrough stuff so maybe it is possible

cheers Richie

Are we talking a bypass valve situation?

I agree that would be tricky  ;D ::)

But, my initial response was a question if it was ALS or launch. A lot of people use both terms for different thing.

Launch is for building boost stationary, and ALS is to keep the turbo spooling "all the time".

What about fitting a smaller WG?

To ALS I would like talking about turbo spooling "all the time"…

Just thinking aloud here, and dunno if it would work, but it's 4am and I'm on watch so it's unlikely!  ;)

If it's draw-through set-up, possibly take advantage of the vacuum under the carb at low throttle openings and use it to open an '80s/'90s EGR valve via an electrical vaccuum switch (also '80s/'90s emissions stuff.....wreckers?), which then supplies post-compressor air to the manifold/collector via a simple check valve (vac-u-pan valve?).
