heard a Zep tune I hadn't heard in YEARS last night on some XM station...."Four Sticks" took me back to the smokey days of "high" school.

Four Sticks
Bron-y-our-Stomp
Misty Mountain Hop
Hey, hey what can i do

Love those  Zep Single B-sides...(Although they sound a little crusty now. The needle has to plough through those vinyl grooves...) Wink

My Ipod is a little tiny box that music comes out of. Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd live inside and will play anything I tell them to play. It's great for excellent adventures..... Oh, and I'm listening to Celebration Day - Led Zeppelin

Just listened to a great interview with Robert Plant and Allison Krauss. They have a collaborative album coming out the end of October called Raising Sand. They're an unlikely pair , but boy does it work. They've got some really good music, loved everything  I heard.

She said she was intimidated to work  with Plant because he has a much wider  vocal range. The two sound incredible together, I can't wait till the albums out!

what's your favorite album? It's hard to decide for me...but I would have to say Physical Graffitti. I think.

For me the: No Quarter"Album. But lets not make this a Zep Topic...

I went for electro grooves in the shop today...

Your going to make my brain fry on that one; I really don't have a definite answer. I lean toward the "3" album because it has such a broad range of talent, Coda because of the obscure but real great show opening songs ie We're Gonna Groove, Walter's Walk, Ozone Baby, etc. Physical Graffitti, because Kashmir captures everything the band is about. Physical Graffiti also shares alot of the groups experiencs on tour ie Sick again, one of my all time favorites about one of the groupies. So I guess the short answer to favorite album would be , all of them.

The first album is great because it shows the newness to me of how Page mixed the tracks . Plant was originaly hired to sing along with guitar. The music was to showcase lead guitar and drums, and Page wasn't even sure he was going to keep Plant around for the next album. That changed quickly in the response of the fans on tour to Plants vocals. Page was no dummy and started mixing tracks with Plant being the dominant force.

BBC sessions is my favorite too. Real raw and dirty early Zeppelin, not overly produced, perfected and tweaked in a studio. I love all the bluesy overtones too.

I'm going to see the Robert Cray Band this Saturday. He's playing at the fairgrounds during the Oktoberfest/ Harvest Festival. It's going to kick ass, imported Bavarian beers, local Oregon microbrews, chili cookoff, Bavarian sausages, and blues from Robert Cray.

This Saturday? I thought you said something about a Save Britney Spears benefit at some teeny bopper club you we're looking forward to.  No?

Are they gonna have beer? If so maybe I'll meet up with you there.  I remember you saying you want to be first in line Grin
