Indeed! An awesome album, like everything else they recorded. R.I.P. Mark Sandman. Always wanted to see them play. Never got the chance.

Today's iPod selection shall include, but not be limited to:

Split Enz / Anniversary

When KROQ 106.7FM (back when they were a real station, pre-emo/screamo/homo/corpo) first came on the air, in 1978, they were playing a lot from this otherwise little known band from New Zealand. Anniversary is their album recorded from their 1996-97 tour. A truly missed band. Tim and Neil Finn reformed their efforts and they're now known as Crowded House.

I need music like this, from the late '70s and early '80s, so I can peacefully install my new A-1 exhaust system. That and the sun's finally shining and we're back to normal So Cal weather. Gotta take it while it's here. May your musical desires become true, today. I fare thee... bidwell.

Wow, deeks, good to see some Split Enz/Crowded House/Finn fans.  In case you haven't seen it, I was given a DVD (by Darrell Baker - a big Finn and Vedder fan) of a concert that Neil Finn did in NZ in 2001 with Lisa Germano, Ed and Phil from Radiohead, Eddie Vedder, Johnny Marr from The Smiths and Tim Finn as musical guests.  I have worn that thing out.  There is also a guest appearance by Neil's son's band Betchadupa, where they BRING THE HOUSE DOWN with History Never Repeats and I See Red.

Killer.

Anyway, thanks for some different flavor to the list.  I'll throw in the contents of my CD changer for a chuckle...........

Fountains of Wayne - Traffic and Weather and  Welcome Interstate Managers
Neil Finn - One Nil
Toad the Wet Sprocket - Dulcinea
The Best of Elvis Costello
Crowded House - Woodface
The Best of Sheryl Crow
Cheap Trick - Greatest Hits
Smashmouth - Fush Yu Mang

Haven't changed that lineup for weeks.....................

Right on, Rick & Dave... GMTA, indeed! I've always been a big fan of The Smiths and Johnny Marr's guitar work.
