I'm allways interested to see what they're building over there. Their cars always seem to have a slightly different styling than most european/US built cars.
Very inspirational, sometimes even controversial, but always exciting to look at.
Too bad it's hard to find pictures of these cars on the net or in magazines because most of them are in japanese.
Any Japanese loungers over here??
Anyone got some more pictures/info?

Some examples:

That orange car is killer...love the wheels.  Also the pale yellow car is great.  I'm hoping to do a slick '67 in Yukon Yellow sometime down the road.

Anyone got some more pictures/info?

Some examples:

Yellow car: that's Kei Hasegawa's Bug. He recently got rid of the body and changed it to a '51 model! Car is still the same color and was featured in Hot VWs and Ultra VW (March 2007). Engine is a 2-liter with IDAs.

Green car: Koishi's Endo's Oval. One of the fastest street-driven VWs in Japan, with Nao Fujita's Oval. Runs on cool 15-inch Radir rims.

2 race cars: both cars belong to Mr. Komori. I'm pretty sure Nao is driving one of them in this pic!

All these cars belong to Der Winning Bug, a club based in Japan. Check out both the Feb. '08 Hot VWs and Feb. '08 Ultra VW (should be out in a few days!) for some info about this club!

sam, no that's a split. it was in ultra some months ago.
a split with upright fenders, you don't see many of those  Cheesy
but it sure means business by the looks of it!!

p.s. can anyone tell me about the fuchs of the green oval, what size are they? i see some late 15x6 in the rear i think...

Well....Japanese California Look scene is deifferent than those trends in U.S or Euro, but going strong.
There are more guys challenging the new look to the scene than the conventional California look.
For example, new members car from the Cal look club that mentioned before..."Der Wining Bug" is now more into metal frake paint ....trying to be different!! But also this club loves old school things such as "fat Biscuit" pattarn interior etc.

In Japan. there are so....... many guys(young) think they have " the look" but not detailed or not clean...too bad. Cry
But sure they are enjoying!!  Well....that is good!!

There are some cool cars here in Japan, take a look this '64 with original American Racing!!
