The throttle linkage I have on my motor is no longer any good as it runs right through where the generator is (never had cooling before). I like the look of the CSP one http://www.csp-shop.com/products/Products/Engine%2CCarburator_Linkages%2CBellcrank_Linkages/20393b/det/ but as I'm running a mag I'm not sure if there will be clearance issues. Anyone run this combo? Any problems? any suggestions of alternatives?

I have fitted this linkage to Ian's Ghia with Idas and there were clearance issues. For
Example, an Msd dizzy wouldn't fit as it fouled the left hand linkage rod. An Msd dizzy is way slimmer than a mag, so reckon
It's a no.
In the end I fitted a vintage Mallory  Wink... It cleared by just a few mm

Ah bugger, thanks Matt. I don't fancy a Berg one because I'll be running aftermarket tin ware so getting it to work right will be a pain.

Mine fits with MSD.  but if the mag is any bigger than MSD I'd say it's a no.

I also run a mag and CSP linkage. It works - barely.
A slight problem on my engine is the tilt of the center piece is limited because on half throttle it hits one of the lower bolts for the fan assembly on the fan housing.
If iŽd used an original in stead of a repro 30hp housing it would probably not be an issue because of different placement of the bolts.

Good point Johnny. I also had issues with the linkage fouling the bottom left hand bolt on the fan tinware. I had to use a csk screw if I remember rightly...

With "reversed" intakes (fuel intake on the outside) and truly horizontal link arms (short intakes) mine worked flawlessly even with the magneto.

Hi Ant,

Hows things fella. Smiley

I tried to run a genuine DDS twist linkage with a MSD dizzy on mine (not sure how close the DDS twist is to the CSP?) and it didnt work. Left side rod caught the side of the dizzy. I was persistant, and even tried making a plate to move the piviot point back. Although it cleared the dizzy then, it didnt operate very smoothly due to being closer to the fan housing.

So in short, its another no from me.

Dude  Cool

I just finished trial fitting mine yesterday & it works fine! I also run a mag but I have just switched to short manifolds so that probably helps. I also have clearance to the fan housing bolt that has been mentioned. Just for the record it's a scat 30 horse shroud.

So it looks like short manifolds just work but everything else is out. Thanks guys, will need to just run a CSP Tayco style I guess.

No, it can work with long manifolds also as stated above. Just not a lot of clearance.  Smiley

Richie thanks, I am an idiot and just assumed they were long for some reason.

Less than 6 inches from head to carb in a straight line. Short ones right?
