I found one for me, Had a NOS one from years ago that I had found at Pomona in a box for $5-, Picked up another NOS for $150, no bad. Now have a set for my car but need to wire it up to connect. I'm looking for a set hopfully NOS for Don Brown, he mentioned to me that he was looking for a set for his project. So I guess you can say I'm helping him out. I understand he doesn't get on the computer much but I do. so here I am! Anyway, thanks Dave, I'll call you later today, will be busy most of the day today.

here you have the diagram and instructions:

http://www.panteraplace.com/page157.htm

if you wire them so that high and low beams are on at the same time you better have a good charging system (been there done that!)

Good idea Alex, I forgot about the Pantera connection.

I've owned several pair of Amplilux over the years.. down to one near new pair and one spare.

Quick story,
Growing up in Lakewood CA my neighbor, Gary Hall was big in to performance Fords along with dealing in Pantera's and Mangusta's. At the tender age of 16 I worked for him after school for a while mostly detailing those Pantera and Mangusta wheels with a toothbrush.. good times.. Well, I told you that to tell you this: My first hard earned paycheck consisted of a pair of Marchal Amplilux w/bulbs for my '64. I had about the best headlights known to man in an early cal-look car.. this was 1974

I've always ran either Hella or Bosch headlights in 99% of my cars. But those have been one of my favorite lights to see on a Cal Look VW. Brinton is still running a set, methinks.

Hey Mark, Ya I've had these NOS lights for awhile now, but NOT wired. Want to make sure I do these right, plus I want to get a little brighter bulbs too. Will see. Yup! I've always liked the Hella's like what on my car now and Marchal's. They really look good on Brintons car for sure.

i like the looks of the headlights on e.g. brinton's '67
but how are they the best headlights? the best looking headlights, i suppose?

they're a bit more round as opposed to my flat Hella lights, and the lower part shines through, all looking good.

but what's that socket in the bottom of the light in the first pic Ted posted?

Hi Diederick, these lights are a dual bulb units, I forget but the bottom are either low beam or high beam, same with the bulb in the back, I believe there H-1 and H-3's, they are very bright, I'm planning on getting a higher wattage bulbs, if I can.
