I would like to thank Jon (and son Andy) of Topline fame for helping me with my engine. Jon rebuilt the engine (2276cc, FK-10, etc.), which has been together for 9 years, and helped me with some custom work. Jon is an outstanding guy, who has been in business for decades and "knows his stuff". He also let me used his shop, special tools, etc. It made all the difference in the world!

I tried something different with the engine compartment, using an aluminum firewall purchased from IMS (Industrial Metal Supply). I also purchased a new Berg linkage - note new joints - and drilled a bunch of holes to match the coil bracket purchased in Japan (thanks Nao!) Mooneyes built the custom breather box, which was later modified by friend Greg Brinton @ Brintech, as it didn't quite fit behind the (Thing) fan shroud. Tin was powder coated (Silver Vein finish) by Orange County Plating, the same company I used... 15 years ago! That finish was tough, but started to show its age.

Anyway, hope to see some of you guys on Friday at Nick's! Can't wait...

Cool treatment!  The firewall is great, and the old-style breather on top of the box catches my eye.  I have a pair of similar Offenhauser breathers I was thinking of doing something with.  Got any better pics of the box?

Thanks!  That is truly awesome.  For some reason, that just seems "right" for a VW breather setup, rather than all the rectangle boxes that have become the "norm."
