Got news yesterday that VolksWorld magazine (and the show) have been sold to Kelsey Publishing, well-known acquirers of magazine titles, and best known for their range of tractor magazines!

End of an era as the magazine's been based in Croydon since I launched it with Link House Publications back in 1987.

Where it goes from here remains to be seen, but judging from Kelsey's past acquisitions, there will be changes afoot for all involved. Let's hope the staff come out of it OK.

I thought it recently changed to another publisher?
Paper quality has gone down...

Not VolksWorld. Ultra VW changed publishers a year ago.

I hope it doesn't affect the show. It's the best and most prestigious show the uk has.

It's hard to imagine that there won't be some changes, if not this year, then next, as there will be a completely new company and a new team of organisers involved. But I'm sure they'll want to keep it at its current high standard and not start cutting costs. Maybe.

I always thought the vowo team also ran the show?

Will it now be turned into a lifestyle fest?
With vans aplenty...

An exhibitions department with input from the staff. Even when I was in charge, a show like that was too much for editorial staff to run – what you see at a show in a venue like Sandown Park is a bit like watching a swan swimming...
