Title: 36 HP Okrasa motor fine tunning ?
Post by: Frenchy Dehoux on November 05, 2016, 23:14:35 pm
I have the 1951 Convertible with a 36 HP Okrasa engine and i have set the timing at 30 degrees and the main jets are 120 the engine is still running rich lots of black smokes. Anything else I should be looking for. I have taken the carbs and cleaned them and still lots of black smoke. My idle jets are 0.50

   Thanks

Hi Frenchy.  Have you tried the Vintage Speed forum on TheSamba?

Frenchy,

your main is too large, try a 112.5 this is what they originally came with. 50 idle is fine.

If it's having a lot of smoke on the bottom end and sWith the small displacement I think your idle jets are to big along with the main. I would drop it down to at least a 45 or 42.
Merry Christmas!z
