Title: Can you identify these valves? Post by: Dougy Dee on August 27, 2010, 17:41:26 pm I have a new set, still in the paper packaging, of 35.5 SS valves with the markings 25016 on the stem. The markings are stamped in to the stem.
They look awful close to the Manley valves I have here. Similar swirl and stem finish. I dont recall where or what I acquired them for But I am considering using them on the exhaust side of a set of hot street head. Can any of you Head Guru's identify the manufacturer? I know I've had them long enough to forget where I got them and what I got them for.... I figure they're old school. Are these Scat valves any good? Are they comparable to Manley or Eaton? I have never had a problem with them and they are in a lot of motors. I always provide Scat valves to the head builder with any of the heads that I have done. Dave Rhoads

Post by: ugly duckling on September 05, 2010, 04:20:34 am i would trust them over a Manley 3 groove any day. the manley from 25 years were good. scat /PEP are good. im gussing that is there supplyer for scat .way cheaper to than a manily. $8 vs $15possibly more. Post by: ugly duckling on September 05, 2010, 19:12:05 pm havent touched any in about a year maybe they changed there ways. this was the troubel i was having. KEEPER GROOVE WERE NOT DEEBURED from the factory before you could install into a guide you would have to polish HEAVE to make them go in. another when heads would come in with usaly chev springs i seen about three sets were the keeper grooves seperated from the stem. never did see that with a cheap valve. there custom stainless are fine. maybe they have changed dont know.
